Coolant Leak Diagnosis Tips

Coolant Leak Diagnosis

Diagnosing your coolant leak will require some help from a special tool called a coolant pressure tester. The DA YUAN 28pcs Universal Radiator Pressure Tester and Vacuum Type Cooling System Kit is a must have tool for the home mechanic or technician.

What is great about this tool is that it is BOTH a pressure tester and vacuum bleeder. This tool will enable you to to test and then bleed your cooling system after repairs are complete.

Before beginning repairs on your vehicle remember to only work on the vehicle after it has cooled down. The cooling system can be under extreme pressure so use caution when opening the cap on your cooling system.

To test your cooling system simply install the correct adapter on your reservoir or radiator where the cap is installed. Attach the pressure pump adapter and pressure test the system up to 15 PSI.

Make sure your cooling system is refilled before beginning this test. The vacuum bleeder tool can be used to fill the cooling system and it may help trace down the source of the leak.
